Bed on the podium with your own hands: a step-by-step manufacturing process, photos and experience of the master. The nuances of making the head of the bed, how you can do it yourself Do-it-yourself headrest in the car drawings

You started a renovation and want to create a unique atmosphere of comfort and style? Or thinking about how to transform the bedroom by adding a few decorative elements? In any case, a beautifully designed headboard will come to the rescue. Is it possible to do it yourself? What materials are needed and where to start? Let's figure it out together!

Key points when choosing a headboard

If you decide to create your own headboard for the bed, consider a few important conditions.

  1. Functionality. If you are going to use the headboard as a support for evening reading or watching movies, then it is better to opt for a soft product made of a material that is easy to clean.
  2. Room size. In small bedrooms, where it is not possible to install a bedside table, it is convenient to make a wide headboard in the form of shelves. For a spacious room with high ceilings, choose a large design.
  3. Style. If the room has a certain stylistic orientation, then the headboard should emphasize and continue it. Recreating the image of the room anew, you can make the original headboard the central part of the composition.

You can visually lengthen the walls by making the height of the headboard greater than the width.

Interior styles that successfully complement the headboard

There are many different interior styles where a headboard helps create a unique setting.

  1. Baroque. This style is associated with luxury, pomp, wealth. Brocade, velvet, fringe, stucco, wood, marble, gilding are the main materials for creating interior elements.
  2. Provence. This style comes from France and combines classic elements with rustic details. Provence is characterized by delicate pastel colors, as if burnt out from the bright sun.
  3. Vintage. A characteristic feature is the filling of the interior with various elements of antiquity.
  4. Art Deco. It combines many different directions: from the Empire to the primitives of African tribes. The lines in the interior are straight, the materials are natural. A lot of abstraction, everything is simple, but very original.
  5. Loft. A combination of elements of abandonment or incompleteness and the latest technical solutions in the interior. A lot of free space, a minimum of partitions and decorative elements.
  6. Patchwork. This style is characterized by the use of textile fabrics created in patchwork technique.
  7. Eco-style implies as many natural elements as possible in the interior. For example, solid wood bed, stone walls, vertical gardening.
  8. Ethnic style recreates the atmosphere of the dwelling of any people. For example, Japanese style, oriental or tropical.
  9. Boho. The plank figured head of the bed is always bright, but at the same time cozy. Elements of self-expression and freedom are the basis of this style in the interior.
  10. Eclecticism. The interior combines several different styles, similar in direction and united by a common decor.

Materials from which the headboard can be made

To create soft headboards, you need a rigid base: a sheet of plywood, elements of old furniture. Her appearance not very important, it will still be hidden behind the upholstery. As the outer layer, you can use natural or artificial leather. Textiles look very nice. Velvet for baroque, golden satin for rococo, floral motifs for ethno style and so on.

Options for soft headboards in the photo

A soft headboard can also be assembled from pillows using textiles and filler.

Do you have unnecessary window frames? Then you can make a soft headrest out of them by adding a beautiful textile upholstery with filler.

A popular and simple technique is decoupage. With its help, you can create a unique design of the details of the bed.

The easiest option is a headboard from an old mattress. It can be embroidered in the desired style or upholstered with suitable material.

It remains only to consider mounting such a design, although if the mattress is large enough, it can simply be nailed to the wall.

The inner soft pad between the frame and the upholstery is made of foam rubber. This is the cheapest option for handmade.

Rigid headboards are most often an element of decor, with the exception of a shelf headboard. The materials for their creation may be different.

  1. One of the most simple options- a headboard assembled from ready-made purchased boards. It remains only to fix them on the wall and add a sconce.
  2. The remaining wooden pallets can turn into a stylish interior detail. This option is very simple and easy to use.
  3. It will be a little more difficult to work on creating a product on a carved metal base, to which wooden boards are attached.
  4. If you have an unused wooden gate, why not use it as an unusual piece of room decoration?
  5. Are you a professional carpenter, artist or woodcarver? Then decorating a homemade design will not give you much trouble.
  6. A mosaic headboard will give your bedroom a unique style or refresh an existing one.
  7. Metal forging is a great option for creating a backdrop for a bed.
  8. Is wicker weaving your favorite pastime? Then, perhaps, you will master this option.
  9. Do you like to knit and can you handle large-scale canvases? Then this option is just for you.

Mirrored headboards deserve special attention. They are easy to make, look luxurious, visually expand the space and make the bedroom brighter.

It is most convenient to enjoy the heat in the steam room in a lying position on a shelf. For the greatest comfort, you will need an indispensable accessory - a headrest for a bath. It must be made of natural wood. Moreover, it is easy to make it yourself, following our instructions.

The purpose of the headrest in the bath

The headrest for a bath is a special removable device that allows you to comfortably bathe in a lying position on any shelf and acts as a kind of pillow. It is a structure in the form of rails, which are connected on parallel bases. The shape of the headrest can be straight, rounded, curved.

On sale you can find headrests made of natural fabrics - linen, cotton. However, the most popular are wooden fixtures. They dry quickly, do not heat up in the steam room, are easy to clean and do not lose their shape. It is desirable that there are several such devices in the steam room so that a small company can comfortably accommodate.

The choice of material for the manufacture of the headrest in the bath

Making a headrest for a bath with your own hands is a great opportunity to save money and create a device that is optimal for your bath in size and design. Most often, a tree is used for this purpose.

The requirements for the wood from which it will be made are the same as for all finishing materials in the steam room. The most important thing is that it must be well dried. So the finished product will retain its shape and not be deformed.

The most popular types of wood in the manufacture of this bath accessory are:

  1. Linden. This tree is characterized by elasticity and good heat capacity. This allows the linden to not absorb too much moisture and not heat up to very high temperatures. In addition, linden has a beautiful color and texture. When exposed high temperature linden secretes special phytohormones that have a therapeutic effect on the body.
  2. Pine. The most inexpensive wood material. Its pleasant feature is the ability to emit a pleasant coniferous smell when heated. But at the same time, pine can release resins from the fibers when heated. Therefore, if you opted for pine as a material for the headrest, choose only high-quality lumber - without resin stains, knots, "pockets", slant.
  3. Birch. A dense wood that has low moisture absorption. Birch is able to heat up quickly, providing a warming effect on the neck and upper spine, and also cool down quickly. Moreover, frequent changes in temperature and humidity conditions are not terrible for her.
  4. Cedar. A relatively expensive material that smells great when heated, is highly resistant to mold. It contains some resins in the fibers, so when the temperature rises, it will not release them. But the special volatile substances emitted by cedar have a beneficial effect on the body.
  5. Aspen. It is a dense and resistant to changes in temperature and humidity wood. It retains its original appearance for a long time and does not crack.
  6. exotic woods. They include ofram, meranti, abash, bamboo. There are practically no drawbacks to these types of wood, with the exception of the high price. But headrests made of such materials will retain their original appearance for many decades.
Sometimes professional master carpenters combine several types of wood at once in their work. However, beginners are advised to choose one type of wood.

In addition to wood, in the work we need self-tapping screws and special carpentry tools.

Manufacturing technology of a direct headrest for a bath

Before starting work, it is necessary to correctly calculate the size of the headrest for the bath. Be sure to check the width of the shelves and benches in the steam room, as the fixture should fit there without any problems. But in any case, it should not be too high or low.

A headrest of a straight shape, without bulges and bends, is considered the simplest design, which even a beginner can make.

To make the simplest headrest in the bath with your own hands, we perform the work in this order:

  • We prepare wooden blocks that will act as slats. Their optimal width is 5-7 cm. Length - depending on the width of the shelves (on average - about 45 cm). We carefully grind the boards so that even the smallest notches remain. For this we use sanding paper.
  • Ready for the sides. We cut triangles of the same shape and size. Use patterns for this. Make sure that the angle of inclination is about 30 degrees - this is optimal angle for comfortable head placement. We also process all surfaces with a grinder or sandpaper.
  • We place each rail on parallel sidewalls and attach with self-tapping screws. The gap between the rails should be approximately 10 mm.
  • We cover the finished product with linseed oil in order to prevent cracking in the future.

Remember that the heads of the self-tapping screws must be deepened into the wood so as not to burn the skin when heated.

How to make a rounded headrest in the bath

This type of headrest provides comfortable placement of the head and upper body due to its anatomical shape. It is believed that the ideal width of such a product is 45 cm, length - 40 cm, height - 10 cm.

Consider the order of work:

  1. We give a rounded shape to the sidewalls on which we will attach the rails. To do this, cut out a couple of rectangles 40x10 cm in size. The ideal thickness of the tree is 25 mm.
  2. We put marks on the blanks with a pencil. The maximum height from one edge is 10 cm, the second edge should be 2 cm high. We connect the marks with a smooth rounded line using a pencil.
  3. Cut out a couple of pieces along the marked lines. We rub all edges and surfaces with sanding paper.
  4. We prepare the slats of the desired length - 45 cm. In total, 8-9 slats are needed. We cut them out with a hacksaw or jigsaw, clean the edges with a grinder and sandpaper.
  5. At the ends of the sidewalls, we drill holes where the rails will be attached using self-tapping screws. We "sink" the screws into the wood so that they do not burn the skin when heated.
  6. We leave a gap between the slats of about 1 cm. This is necessary to drain the water and circulate air.

If you have certain skills, the finished product can be decorated with wood carvings.

Do-it-yourself curved headrest for a bath

The headrest for a bath can not only create additional comfort during the procedures, but also have a certain healing effect. To do this, you can independently make a curved headrest massager. This device will massage the back of the head and cervical vertebrae.

We carry out work on manufacturing in the following order:

  • We prepare blanks for sidewalls measuring 45x12 cm.
  • We give shape to the sides. For this, experts recommend using not a simple rounded shape, but a more convenient curved one. With a simple pencil, draw a smooth wavy line on wooden rectangles. On it we cut the details with a hacksaw.
  • We carefully sand the parts to complete smoothness.
  • We prepare rounded sticks. Their diameter should be about 25-35 mm. We grind them.
  • We cut rounded blanks of the desired length - 35-40 cm. In total, about 10-12 such parts will be needed. Their number depends on the width of the gaps between them.
  • We drill holes in the center on both sides of each of the sticks.
  • We attach round crossbars to the sidewalls along a wavy contour. To do this, we use long self-tapping screws or dowels made of wood.
  • The finished product is again processed with sanding paper to achieve perfect smoothness.

How to sew a fabric headrest in a bath

In addition to wood, you can make your own headrests from fabric or rattan. In the first case, linen, cotton is used. In the second case - wicker rattan. In order to create a wicker fixture, you will need certain skills. But a fabric headrest in the form of a pillow can be built by any hostess.

The fabric headrest has the form of a roller. Various fragrant dried herbs are placed inside, such as lavender, thyme, mint. You can use juniper needles or cedar shavings. Such a pillow will exude a delicate smell of herbs - it will have a healing and relaxing effect. The fabric of the cushion can be sewn or fastened with ropes.

Remember that such a product needs special care. The headrest roller should be thoroughly dried regularly, and from time to time the herbs should be replaced with new ones.

Before starting work, you should prepare a suitable drawing of the headrest for the bath. And following our step by step instructions, making it yourself is not difficult. A device made according to technology will give comfort for many years. At the same time, you should remember the simple rules for caring for it: do not leave it in the steam room when leaving it, store it in a dry, ventilated room.

More and more people are installing monitors in their cars. Moreover, you can install a mini-TV in any car, regardless of its model and brand. And the most popular place to insert TVs in the car is still the front seat headrests, as this is the best place in terms of convenient location. However, there are a number of nuances that must be considered before installing the monitor in the headrest, so as not to be disappointed in the end result.

Required Tools

Many car enthusiasts want to install monitors in their headrests to emphasize the uniqueness and status of their car.

As with anything, you'll need a number of tools to set up your monitor.

  1. Marker,
  2. knife,
  3. Electric couplers,
  4. electrical tape,
  5. self-tapping screws,
  6. Screwdriver or screwdriver.

It is important to compare the dimensions of the headrest and the TV you want before starting the installation. If the TV is larger, then you need to choose another model.

Monitor mounting

  1. First of all, you need to remove the headrest from the seat and place it on a table or other convenient place to work.
  2. Carefully, based on the dimensions of the TV, mark the required space on the back of the stand, which will then need to be cut out. To make it easier to pull out the foam later, mark an X-shaped cutout in the middle of the resulting rectangle.
  3. Cut out a piece of foam rubber according to the marked stencil. The depth of the cutout should reach the metal strip inside the stand.
  4. Now you need to pull out the entire foam rubber from the cutout. You need to do this as carefully as possible so that later nothing interferes with inserting the screen.
  5. We insert and fix the TV. This can be done in many ways, but we recommend using the tried and true self-tapping method. Then, in which case, they can be easily unscrewed, and until then they will firmly hold the screen. To do this, by the way, is quite simple: you just need to attach the TV with the back side to the stand, fix it with self-tapping screws and snap the screen into the resulting bar. Ready!

If you do not have self-tapping screws, then you can secure the monitor with an electric tie. To do this, make a couple of holes in the monitor bar, and then at the same distance a couple of holes in the headrest bar. It remains only to take two electrical ties and fasten the monitor to the seat with them.

As you can see, installing a monitor in a headrest, subject to all the rules, is a simple task, and it is quite possible without resorting to the help of car services. However, we have compiled a number of nuances, considering which, you can get maximum pleasure while comfortably watching the video in the car.

  1. Consider the optimal TV viewing angle. It's no secret that not all models have a wide viewing angle - therefore, looking at the screen from the bottom up, you can get a distorted (negative) image or you have to pull your head up, which is quite inconvenient. Therefore, choose TVs with a wide viewing angle.
  2. your stand. It happens that it consists of vinyl filled with foam, and such a design is already very difficult to disassemble. So be prepared for the fact that you may have to convert the factory case to leather.
  3. If you have multiple screens and have a DVD in your headrest, you can watch the same video at the same time thanks to the image mirroring feature.

By the way, the screens in the headrests have not found such popularity in vain - after all, most often children sit in the back seats. And it's no secret that children in the car do not always behave calmly. And a headrest with a monitor saves caring parents from petty pranks and screams, and it is interesting for children to watch what is happening on the screen.

The headrest for the bed is used not only for a comfortable location in bed, its main function is to decorate the interior. A bedroom with such a bed gives the room a unique atmosphere.

The right headboard can emphasize the stylistic direction of the design or add unusual notes to it. The ability to mount on the wall allows you to add such a product to a simple mattress on a podium or frame, while making it yourself is easy.

Types of backs

There is a wide choice of headboards for beds: with soft upholstery, wooden even and with carved elements, solid and with gaps, forged and bent metal. In addition to monolithic products, you can purchase a bed with adjustable headrests that allow you to change the height and angle of inclination.

Depending on the style of the bedroom design, choose a suitable backrest. If desired, you can easily make headrests at home by creating an original piece of furniture.

Wooden headboard for the bed

Due to their affordability and ease of processing, wooden headboards are popular. In addition, the material is environmentally friendly.

Along with the usual wooden products, more and more often you can find backs in the form of simple raw boards, a cut of a log on two racks, in the form of door leaves with metal decorative elements. The imagination of designers has practically no limits.

Simple upholstered headboard

The padded back will never go out of style. It gives the bed luxury and comfort, and various design methods can turn such a simple element into the accent of the entire room.

All types of fabrics are used for upholstery. Various color schemes and a combination of shades are acceptable, expensive leather headboards and affordable leatherette headboards.

The base of the soft headrest can be rectangular or square, with a multi-tiered, figured or zigzag top edge. For decoration, a carriage screed, frames made of carnations, rhinestones, mosaics and other things are used. A big plus of such a back is the possibility of making it yourself.

Figured headboard

The most beautiful headboards for beds are made with a curly top edge. And there are a wide variety of options.

Curly upholstered headboards look the most luxurious. To create at home, you will need the simplest tool, a sheet of plywood, foam rubber and a fabric cloth.

According to a pre-thought-out and drawn sketch, a plywood base and a foam blank of the same size are cut out. When cutting the fabric, take into account the indentation for the bend and the thickness of the filler, approximately 15-20 cm.

Plywood is laid on a flat surface. We fix the foam rubber to it with the help of wood glue or PVA. Then, slightly pulling, attach the fabric with a stapler to the base. The top curly edge remains open.

An important point is to secure the top without creating irregularities and folds in the fabric. Therefore, cuts are made on the fabric, directed from the edge to the places where the line makes an internal corner or depression. This will allow you to pull it at the right angle.

The finished headboard is decorated with a fringe or ribbon piping along the curly edge. You can make a line from a row of furniture nails. To create a texture, the figured edge is duplicated with ties at a distance of 10-15 cm from the edge.

Pillow bed headrest

An easy-to-perform and cheap-to-implement method of decorating a headboard is with simple or decorative pillows. Elements can be purchased or sewn from improvised materials, arranging at your discretion.

To fix the pillows, two methods are used:

  1. On the basis of a sheet of plywood, MDF or chipboard, cut to the required size, each element is nailed to the corners using a construction stapler with elongated brackets. You can fix each pillow around the perimeter with decorative furniture studs and or decorate the joints with wooden planks.
  2. Pillows hanging on hooks or a round cornice look spectacular. In this case, one or more large standard pillows or smaller products are used. Previously, you need to sew loops to the pillows to match the fabric from which they are made.

Fancy patchwork bed headrest

Interior items in the patchwork style have been used for many decades and do not lose their relevance. To make a bed with a soft headboard from “patchwork”, you need to prepare elements from fabric of different colors or textures.

First, cut out two sheets of plywood equal in area. One is divided into equal pieces. Then you need to prepare the same squares of foam rubber and details of matter a little larger, taking into account the bend of the fabric.

Each element is folded in turn (plywood, foam rubber, fabric) and the fabric is nailed with staples. You should get a given number of multi-colored squares that will correspond to the size of the base.

The patchwork headboard is folded and fastened in two ways:

  • All the components of the future backrest are laid down with the soft part down. A solid sheet of plywood is placed on top of this puzzle. Then, using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws, the length of which is half the thickness of the base, each part is screwed in four places in the corners. It is important to choose the right fastener length. Its excess will lead to through holes.
  • A simpler and more convenient method is implemented by gluing the squares to the base using furniture glue or liquid nails.

The resulting product is supplied with wall hooks and hung at the head of the bed. In order to fasten directly to the furniture case, you must first provide for the extension of the base to the floor itself, drill through holes both in plywood and in the frame. Then fasten tightly with bolts and washers.

Making a headrest with your own hands

The manufacturing process of the headboard is divided into stages and depends on the type, shape and materials to be used. First, the available space is measured and the future headboard is designed, the style and functionality are carefully developed.

Materials and tools

Making a wooden headboard for a bed with your own hands involves the use of boards, beams, glued wooden boards and other raw materials. Also in the process, you will need the following tools:

  1. tape measure, ruler, square;
  2. marker or pencil;
  3. hacksaw or electric jigsaw;
  4. grinder and sandpaper;
  5. drill or screwdriver, a set of screwdrivers;
  6. hammer, nails, self-tapping screws, metal corners;
  7. glue, varnish, stain or paint, brushes.

As a basis, it is necessary to prepare one or two sheets of plywood with a thickness of 18-20 mm.

A metal headboard will require the performer to have knowledge and skills in processing this material and welding. In addition to metal rods, you will need:

  • a press with different shapes to give the blanks the desired shape and bends;
  • grinder with a disc for cutting and grinding metal;
  • welding machine with electrodes;
  • marker, tape measure.

Drawing

The most important preliminary stage is the preparation of a detailed drawing indicating the dimensions of the constituent elements and the entire product, attachment points, and subsequent assembly scheme.

After measuring the place by the bed, it will be clear what size the backrest can be, whether it is possible to supplement it with functional elements (shelves, racks, tables), what fasteners can be used in each individual case.

If there are numerous parts in the design, the drawing will tell you how to make a single whole out of them later and eliminate possible errors at any of the assembly stages.

Fastening to the frame

Most often, homemade upholstered headboards are attached directly to the wall. Metal or wooden backs, if they have many gaps, are best attached to the bed frame.

The wooden headboard should be equipped with two long posts and rest against the floor. They measure the distance from the floor, which will ensure the presence of two or three fasteners on both sides, and make marks both on the bed frame and on the headboard itself. Then, according to the marks, holes are made corresponding to the diameter of the bolts.

The headrest is installed in the right place, the holes made are brought together and screwed on. Wide washers are placed between the bolts (nuts) and the wooden part to prevent deformation of the material. It is necessary to tighten the fasteners in such a way as to exclude cracks and gaps, but at the same time do not create strong pressure on the wood.

What do you do with old furniture?

The bed takes center stage in the bedroom. On it you can sleep, relax, read, watch TV.

The most important element of the interior design of the bed is its headboard.

Let's talk about what the head of the bed is, and how you can make it yourself at home.

The first option is classic, made of wood. How the wood is processed determines how the bed will fit into the style of the bedroom. Strictly executed headboards do not decorate, they are made rectangular or slightly rounded. Such furniture elements are varnished or painted.

Aristocratic products are decorated with a wave-like ornament, while elegant ones made in the Baroque, Empire or Classicism style are real masterpieces.

The metal version is an ancient type of headboard. This option is used in many styles of bedroom interiors.

This headboard design is suitable for Romanesque and Scandinavian style.

The option that uses mosaic or natural stone is another popular type of backrest.

It often involves sea pebbles, glass, ceramics and other materials.

Designs in which textiles are used are a fairly common occurrence.

Their wide distribution can be explained by the coziness and comfort brought by the fabric to the interior of the bedroom.

Certain types of textiles are suitable for different styles of bedroom design.

Velvet is used for baroque or rococo, and satin is suitable for empire style.

The bedroom furniture looks stylish, the decoration of which is made partially of leather.

The element, upholstered in leather, gives it chic and sophistication.

The design in the form of shelves allows you to efficiently use the space of the bedroom, freeing up extra space in it.

It is only necessary to make sure that the items on the shelves do not accidentally fall on sleeping people.

The mirrored headboard is suitable for those who are not committed to Feng Shui.

This teaching does not use a bedroom mirror.

Materials and tools

It is quite difficult to sheathe furniture for the bedroom with material. But if you try hard, do not rush, you can get a good result. It is better when the design is made by the master. But it's never too late to learn something new.

Before you get to work, you need to prepare everything you need.

You will need:

  1. A sheet of plywood with a thickness of 8 to 12 millimeters.
  2. Foam rubber sheet from 50 mm and above.
  3. A piece of decorative or technical material. It should cover the area of the head of the bed.
  4. Decor details for decoration.

Headboard materials.

The plan cannot be done without the following tools and materials:

  • Electric drills;
  • Jigsaw;
  • A set of drills;
  • Furniture stapler;
  • A set of staples for a furniture stapler;
  • Construction knife and scissors;
  • twine;
  • Screwdriver and hammer;
  • Clay;
  • Two sets of buttons;
  • Sewing kit.

Set of tools.

Preparing the back frame

First of all, we free the frame from the old skin. From the rear, we nail or fasten a pair of boards or plywood with screws along the length. If you wish, extend the base with 5x5 cm bars. They can not be attached to the frame. They will hold the braces that hold the padded skin in place.

Behind the frame will look ugly. You can cover it with plywood.

Hole marking

We mark the holes that we will drill for fixing the material. The template for it will be a perforated Pegboard, in which tools and other attributes are stored.

You can circle the already transferred holes on the perforated plate so as not to forget what has already been done.

All work consists of the following steps.

If something prevents the free entry of the needle on the back of the base, the holes should be made through for a strong sheathing.

We fix the foam rubber and fabric

We take the foam rubber, dividing it into two pieces in size, and place it along the front of the back with notches to the bottom. Align the sides and top of the foam rubber. We cut off the excess.

We fasten the foam rubber on the sides and bottom with a stapler.

We drape with textiles. We leave a margin along the edge from 25 to 30 cm. We put a structure draped vertically with the help of matter and rest it against the wall. It should be noted that when it is sheathed, we will need free access to it.

It's good to find a partner to hold her.

We fit the buttons

Now we are waiting for the most time-consuming work - covering the buttons with fabric. The set of buttons has instructions for use, carefully read it and get to work. But first, a few tips for work.

Remember to use good glue if you don't want the button caps to fall off over time.

  • We cut the fabric with a margin, a little more than the template included in the kit. The excess can be cut off after we drive the button cover into shape.
  • We put the fabric and the lid into the form from the side, then carefully insert it.
  • Before inserting the button legs, grease its edges with a drop of glue. Excess solution is removed with a napkin. It must dry at least overnight so that the prepared buttons can be used.

We sheathe the structure

To carry out this procedure, you need to stock up on a long needle with a large eye, simple buttons and twine. You need to tie the knots tightly on the rope. Several should be made.

The knots on this smooth twine are easy to untie, but it passes freely through the foam rubber and fabric.

We insert a long piece of rope into the needle and put on a button through all the holes, as if it were being sewn on. We tie it into several knots.

Make sure that you tie the knot well (and more than once) so that it does not untie over time.

We pass the needle through the upper center hole that we drilled and move from the back of the headboard to the front. We hold the needle strictly straight. We pierce the foam rubber with a needle, gently pressing on it from the outside. We take out the needle that appears.

Be sure to keep the needle straight.

We fasten the dried button from the front of the headboard. For this:

  • We pass the needle through the eye of the covered button;
  • We make a turn of the thread around the button and again thread it into the eyelet;
  • We drown the button in foam rubber, at the same time, pulling the thread (the loop holds the button in this position);
  • Cut off the twine, leaving small tails;
  • We tie the ends of the twine at the bottom of the button, by analogy with shoelaces;
  • We tie a knot on its reverse side, we do this repeatedly.
  • We cut off the excess rope, hide the ends;
  • We “pinch” the matter, forming it with folds.

Make sure all folds are facing the same direction.

After fastening the button, we form a fold that goes up. Then we fasten the next one and again form a fold. Having sewn four buttons, we stretch the material and fix the folds with staples.

The folds should look the same.

In a similar way, we fasten the subsequent buttons and form new folds of the 1st row. At the end of it, we continue to flash the remaining surface.

Following all the rules, every diamond on your back will be perfect.

Now small folds are formed and fastened after each button to get beautiful diamonds.

You have to micro crease with your fingers after adding each new button to get the perfect rhombs.

Bed interior and back decor

The interior of the bed depends on the preferences of the owner. Usually the bed is bought ready-made or ordered by craftsmen. But now it has become popular to decorate a soft headboard yourself.

This method gives the bedroom furniture a unique look.

The decor of the upholstered headboard can be very different. It all depends on your imagination and financial capabilities.

The original headboard will help emphasize your style and taste.
